School of Dentistry, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Provides various dental services to patients:

Patient admission into dental clinic will be commenced from 23rd September 2023.

Opening hours: 7:30 AM – 15 PM

Instruction for patients:

1- Receiving the initial admission number from the entrance door of the patients (basement) located on the student boulevard from Saturday to Wednesday except for holidays (at 7:30 am)

2- Entering the first floor of the reception unit.

3- The main admission is done based on the initial admission number

4-The patient's ID is registered in the system (National ID Card is required) and the photo of the face is registered.

5-The patient is referred to the department of oral  Medicine and diseases for the initial examination, then the corresponding radiographs are done in the radiology department, and then she is referred to the oral medicine department  to register the treatment plan.

6- In order to determine the which dental student in which semester can perform the dental treatment and for further specialized examination, the patient is referred to the comprehensive clinic department.

 

Specialized Dental Services to patients include:

Endodontics: Provides root canal therapies, root canal retreatments, endodontic microsurgeries, vital pulp therapies, apexifications, apexogenesis, internal bleaching, and endodontic emergencies.

 

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: Oral and maxillofacial surgeons provide a broad range of outpatient surgical procedures, including wisdom teeth extraction and dental implants. Surgeons consult with general practitioners and specialists in anesthesia and esthetic dentistry to determine the best course of treatment for each patient.

 

Oral Medicine: Provides treatment for oral soft tissue conditions such as lesions associated with autoimmune and systemic diseases including HIV/AIDS, oral pre-malignant or malignant lesions as well as salivary gland diseases and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders.

 

Orthodontics: Orthodontists use corrective appliances to bring teeth, lips, and jaws into proper alignment, thereby enhancing bite function and facial appearance in children and adults alike.

 

Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology: Takes tissue specimens and biopsies for diagnosis of disease.

 

Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology: Makes X-ray of teeth and jaws for diagnosis of disease. This department provides access to various conventional and advanced imaging including intraoral Periapical and Bitewing Radiography, Panoramic radiography, Cephalometric radiography and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). In addition, the OMFR department provides services to patients in need of maxillofacial ultrasonography (US). US imaging can assess the anatomy of soft tissues of head and neck and assess salivary gland pathologies and presence of sialolithiasis. The Intraoral probe of US can assess the alveolar bone of jaw and periodontium with high accuracy.

 

Pediatric Dentistry: Services focus on oral health care for infants, children, and adolescents. Pediatric dentists implement individualized preventive oral health practices and reduces the child’s risk of preventable dental and oral disease and should start no later than 12 months of age. In case anesthesia is required, the patient will be admitted in the fellowship section.

 

Periodontics and Implant Surgery: Periodontists specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes (placement of dental implants) and the maintenance of the health, function and esthetics of these structures and tissues.

 

Prosthodontics: Prosthodontists, or reconstructive dentists, employ the latest technology to replace or reconstruct severely damaged teeth. Prosthodontists restore optimal dental function and aesthetics using dental implants, crowns, veneers, bridges, and full or partial dentures. ; Removable Prosthodontics included the design and fabrication of complete, immediate or partial dentures to replace missing teeth..

 

Restorative Dentistry: Focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of caries, conservation of tooth structure and the restoration of structurally compromised teeth, in an effort to restore form function and esthetics.

 

Oral health care education: focused on teaching and educating patient on importance of oral health care such as brushing, flossing and usage of mouth wash.
